Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the vertical composition portraying a white-clad nobleman, possibly a Rajput prince, seated in a palatial interior against a long gold-embroidered cushion, holding a flower in his hand, his tulwar (sword), khanjar (push dagger) and dhal (shield) resting on the floor to his side, the verso with annotations in black ink Devanagari script, the painting mounted on a later cardboard frame, 13.1cm x 10.6cm.
