A cased George IV sterling silver and ivory fruit set, the majority Sheffield 1825 by E&S (untraced)

Comprising nineteen fruit knives (twelve 1825, six 1824, one Birmingham 1826 by Unite & Hilliard) and sixteen fruit forks, (twelve 1825, three 1819, one Birmingham 1826 by Unite & Hilliard). The Birmingham fork engraved with a crest of a demi-lion rampant. Housed within a later fitted case by Elkington and Co with attached description dated March 1927 detailing that these were the possession of John Macfie of Leith and Edinburgh (1783-1825). Each fully marked.

Case length – 40.5 cm / 15.8 inches
