Head of Ceramics & Glass 

We are looking for a specialist in ceramics and glass to build on the success of a well-established department.

The postholder will put on 4 dedicated sales a year, offering a wide variety of 16th to 20th century British and European pottery, porcelain, glass and enamels. In addition, they will work closely with the Design and Interiors team, whose monthly sale offers ceramics and glass in the more middle market range.

The ideal candidate will have proven knowledge and experience in the field, with first class connections with the major collectors, dealers and auction houses. They should have an entrepreneurial flair, and an ability to thrive within a fast-paced team environment. The ability to also value the range of property that feature in our Design and Interiors sale would be an advantage.

Department Coordinator – Paintings and Fine Art Department

This role provides full administrative support and coordination across all aspects of the sales cycle for the Head of Department, Heads of Sale and specialists in their consigning, cataloguing and selling of paintings and fine art.

This busy team puts on 9 sales a year in Old Masters, Modern and Post-War British Art, and 18th and 19th century British and European fine art, including watercolours, oils, prints and portrait miniatures.

This post holder will provide both an administrative / supporting function as well as a driving function. The ideal candidate will have a background in the art business or a related field, first class project management, communication and team-working skills, and be fully IT literate. An academic background in art history is an advantage, but is not essential.

The postholder will put on 4 dedicated sales a year, offering works in a range of media and price points across both the established masters in this field, to new and emerging artists. Working closely with related departments, such as urban art, post-war and modern British art, photographica and design and interiors, this is an exciting opportunity for an early to mid-career professional, looking to work in an exciting and ambitious auction house.
