Terms & Conditions – Absentee Bids

Thank you for choosing to leave an Absentee Bid. Please read the following the Terms & Conditions carefully since they create legal rights and obligations:

I request Chiswick Auctions to bid on the Lots listed on the form up to the maximum price I have indicated on each Lot. I understand that once submitted, I am liable to pay for any successful bids.

I understand that if my bid is successful, the purchase price will be the sum of my final bid plus a Buyer’s Premium and VAT on that commission together with any applicable Artist’s Resale Rights (Please note a Buyer’s Premium of 25% on the hammer price plus VAT on that commission is charged on the first £300,000 and 12% plus VAT on the balance thereafter. Exception: The Buyer’s Premium on purchases of Wine & Spirits will be 17% of the hammer price plus VAT on each lot sold).

I agree to pay for and collect my lots by close of business on the day of the sale or between 10.00 and 18.00 up until close of business on Friday following the sale. Otherwise, I agree to pay a storage charge of £5.00 per lot per day thereafter. Payment is accepted by debit card, credit card, bank transfer or cash. Cheques are not accepted.

I understand that Chiswick Auctions provides the service of executing absentee bids for the convenience of clients and that Chiswick Auctions is not responsible for failing to execute bids or for errors related to execution of bids. Chiswick Auctions will endeavour to purchase the lots listed below for the lowest possible price, taking into account the reserve and other bids.
