Rick is the head of the Coin & Banknote and Antiquities departments at Chiswick Auctions. Having started his career at Time-Line Originals (now Timeline Auctions) in 2005 as an administrative assistant, he quickly became enamoured and knowledgeable in ancient coinage and artefacts leading to a management role. Later, Rick managed the ancient coin and antiquity gallery Parthenon Gallery Ltd and worked as a specialist for Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) where he was part of the team that authenticated and graded the Edward VIII gold sovereign, a coin which sold for £1m and remains a career highlight. Rick has also acted as a consultant for auction houses including Tennants Auctioneers where he was Head of Coins and Banknotes. Rick’s specialisms include coins of all periods from ancient Greek to modern commemorative proof coins and artefacts from ancient, Classical and European cultures.
