John has over fifteen years’ experience in collecting and studying silver having developed a broad knowledge in British as well as Non-European silver, his specific research interests are Britannia standard silver, Colonial silver and the silver of 20th century Persia. John also runs the Objects of Vertu department providing an essential complement to the larger silver holloware with sewing items, snuff boxes made from a variety of materials and the colourful range of enamels to be found.

 

Originally from South Wales, then having studied Fine Art and Art History at Goldsmiths, John also holds an MA from the Royal College of Art. John is keen to contribute and develop academic texts that develop the history and breadth of obscure areas such as colonial Jamaican silver or Iraqi nielloware.
