Dolls, Toys & Teddy Bears

Tracie Vallis has been rushed off her feet with the quantities of Toys, Dolls & Teddy Bears being entered into the Tuesday 24th June sale. Its a larger than usual sale as Debbie & Carol Ann Stanton's collection has 100 lots, both are well known in the 'Doll World' and decided to sell their dolls and doll related items.

The Toy auction is in its third year and it has really caught our Chiswick Auctions collectors enthusiasm.

As Tracie says "I never know how many lots I will have at the end of the day so I never really close entries to a sale, if it arrives in time for a photograph it will be entered into the sale.  Remember when my catalogue goes up weeks before  the sale - it grows every week until the auction and the growing catalogue needs to be viewed over and over again."

Apart from collections sold, 90% of Tracie's toy auctions come from private people and found in attics!

SUPER RARE Lot 77 Steiff Hot Water Bottle Teddy Bear, with Steiff button in ear. The tummy area is lined to hold a metal water bottle (missing) and then the stomach has boot hooks for the front to be laced closed. The idea never took off, and this bear is one of only 90 ever made, he clearly has been well loved over the years.  Estimate £1000 - 3000.  Tracie is hoping he will reach new heights for Teddy Bears at Chiswick Auctions as one in poor condition sold for £6000 at an auction 4 years ago, he had also been well loved.

20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design

CA20thCenturySale-004 - Copy

James Nurse is holding his fourth auction on Tuesday 15th July at 12 noon. James is very excited to have this Damien Hirst 'For the Love of God' limited edition print, that sets the flavour of things to come in this sale.

Damien Hirst For the Love of God

Not only is there a good cross section of mid 20th century originals and prints, there is also a steady flow of contemporary art finding it's way to this sale. A fine selection of glass and ceramics will be on offer in the form of a large Lalique bowl and other British, European and Scandinavian glass and ceramics. We will have Danish furniture by Arne Vodder, some Merrow Associates pieces and  there is a consignment of Italian 1950s and 1960s furniture with a Paulo Buffa cabinet being one of the star attractions.
