*** The wonderful series of colour woodcuts which carefully reproduce Dali’s illustrations in watercolour and ink, commissioned by the Italian government to mark the 700th anniversary of Dante’s birth in 1965. The work perfectly blends Dante’s vision with Dali’s surrealistic world, depicting symbols, allegories and mirroring the paranoiac-critical method of the Spanish artist.
