*** One of the most decorative Holy Land maps of the period, originally engraved for Jodocus Hondius. After his death, this map, along with 39 others, were purchased by Blaeu who deleted Hondius’ name and added his own. Blaeu then immediately published 34 of them as part of his first atlas.
