A COCO DE MER (SEA COCONUT).
Native only to the Seychelles islands of Praslin and Curieuse.
Footnotes: The name derived out of ignorance and confusion over the source of the huge nut. Having washed up on non-native shores, such as the islands of the Maldives (in a non-fertile state, having suffered life at the bottom of the ocean), the large nut wouldn’t propagate, it was therefore long assumed that the nut had come from the deep ocean, rather than another land mass.
