A 16th to 17th century Indian chilanum dagger of traditional form. The iron hilt shows small remnants of gilding. The robust 9 inch (23cm) steel blade is double-edged, curved, with double-fullers and a midrib, together with a reinforced armour-piercing point. Overall length 13 1/2 inches (34cm). (1)
