*** Although Le Antichità Romane was reprinted in 1829, with numbers bottom right, these plates are from the earlier state. Rossini’s largest and most famous series of engravings, the views often depict Rome’s monuments from the same vantage point chosen by his esteemed predecessor, Piranesi.
