Gerda Molin was the daughter of the famous sculptor Johan Peter Molin, the man behind the Karl XII Statue and Molin’s fountain in Kungsträdgården. She trained under August Malmström. Then she travelled to Paris for further study in 1883, followed by London. Gerda married Major Kristian Georg Ljungstedt in 1903.
