Original wrappers, printed label laid down on upper wrapper (some minor creasing and discolouration to edges). Provenance: ANTHONY HOBSON (bookplate). FIRST EDITION. Loosely-inserted is a 2-page autograph letter from Sachaverell (“Sachie”) Sitwell to Anthony Hobson, dated 12. Xii. 1966, speculating as to the authorship of the pastiche: “… I have a vague memory of ‘Cranks’ but do not know who wrote it. I wonder if it could have been Sewell Stokes? It’s a long time ago, isn’t it?’” With [C. K. Scott-Moncrieff’s] The Strange and Striking Adventures of Four Authors in Search of a Character by P. G. Lear & L. O. ([London], The Cayme Press, 1926, wrappers, NUMBER 253 OF 350 COPIES). "More Sitwell pastiches written by Noel Coward with a wit which only seems to grow sharper" (H.B.).
