Provenance: THOMAS BLOFELD (armorial bookplate); J. V. F. Richard, April 1963 (signature on front free endpaper). FIRST EDITION. The second of the Bond novels to feature the villain Blofeld. In the very final scene, Blofeld shoots at Bond from a fast-moving car but accidentally kills his new wife instead. “Bond caught a glimpse of a taut, snarling mouth under a syphilitic nose ...”
