Wood-engraved portrait of Hernia Whittlebot “from a contemporary portrait by E. Lorn Macnaughton,” with the spoof errata slip (“In ‘To my Bedroom’ for ‘Chimneys’ read ‘Communication Cord’” [etc.]) printed in red (upper fore-corner of first 2 leaves torn away without loss, the first repaired). Original brown printed wrappers (some minor waterstaining), contained in modern marbled box. Provenance: ANTHONY HOBSON (bookplate pasted into box); contemporary inscription on first page: "To Margaret. As a lover of true poetry, these verses, so representative of the best and highest contemporary English poetic art, will, we have no doubt, appeal strongly to you; and we therefore beg you to accept this little book as a mark of our sincerest affection.
