MENU. [“Savage Club House Dinner. In the chair Joe Harker, Harold William. Guests of the Evening. The Australians.”(Title on verso, provided in facsimile but unexamined out of frame)].  A printed menu of a House Dinner held at The Savage Club, London, in honour of the Australian Cricket team, incorporating 4 original pencil caricatures by Arthur Mailey, and SIGNED by Arthur Mailey, B. A. Barnett, Arthur Moreland, A. P. Herbert, Harold Williams, George Whitelaw, Herman Finck (a question mark suggests the composer Finck may not have been present, except in spirit), Gordon Harker and others, more indistinctly, dimensions of the menu 280 x 210mm., framed and glazed, a pictorial label pasted onto the verso dated “Sat. June 30th 1934. "One of the first Mailey cartoons I came by. Mailey loved to draw caricatures of those sitting round him at dinners. This particular feast gave him plenty of scope and pride of place must go to AP Herbert. This menu is a splendid example of Mailey's genius" (H.B.).
