“Cricket in Constantinople.” A hand-coloured wood-engraving incorporating 10 comic vignettes, the artist unknown but one vignette signed in the plate “Nemesis” and another with initials “C.W.C. & W.R.”, 320 x 520mm., framed and glazed. The double-page illustration is extracted from “The Graphic” published on December 30th, 1882. "It is wonderful how cricket has stretched round the world. Cricket in Constantinople, foresooth!!!" (H.B.).
