Whitwell (occasional spotting and staining to text). Original coloured pictorial cloth (some very minor rubbing to edges, without the dust-jacket). Provenance: H. [?]M. Summerskill (signature on front free endpaper). The book first appeared in book form in 1910, having previously been serialied in 'The Captain' between 1908-09. Its frontispiece shows Mr Smith and Mike being interrupted by Bickersdyke during a cricket match. cf. McIlvaine 22.
