Join us on Thursday, from 11:00 am to 16:00, at the Barley Mow Centre and meet our contemporary ceramics specialist, Jo Lloyd, and find out if your studio ceramic(s) could feature in our next Design sale. We will be offering free, no-obligation appraisals, whether you have a single item or a whole collection.
Artists that we would particularly like to see include Lucie Rie, Hans Coper, Magdalene Odundo, John Ward, Elizabeth Fritsch, Ewen Henderson, Bernard Leach, Katharine Pleydell-Bouverie, Shoji Hamada, William Staite Murray, Gordon Baldin, James Tower, Colin Pearson, Siddig El Nigoumi, Ladi Kwalli, Bodil Manz, Edmund de Waal, Akiko Hirai, Pablo Picasso and Jennifer Lee.
But there are also plenty of others that we would be delighted to include in our future sales, including Japanese ceramicists, Scandinavian, British and European. If you’re not sure, please just come along.
I’m not sure who made my pot – should I still bring it along?
Absolutely! We are very happy to help you identify the maker – sometimes the maker’s mark or seal can be tricky to decipher, or sometimes the ceramic artist didn’t sign at all, and our specialist is on hand to help you find out more.
My vase is too heavy for me to carry into the saleroom. How can I get it valued?
You can bring along photographs on your mobile phone or tablet so that we can make an appraisal based on images, although it is always better to see the item in person if at all possible.
Do I need to make an appointment?
To ensure a seamless experience, we recommend booking an appointment with Jo, jo.lloyd@chiswickauctions.co.uk, in advance. However, walk-in appointments are also welcome subject to availability.
Come along and discover the value of your pottery. We very much look forward to seeing you there!
