Chiswick Auctions is the leading auction house for the sale of Fine Chinese Paintings and is the only saleroom in the UK to hold dedicated sales in this category. The November 2017 sale achieved an auction house record price of £267,600 incl. premium for a landscape handscroll by the internationally acclaimed artist, Xu Naigu, which was awarded the prestigious Asian Art in London Commendment Award.

Works by 20th Century masters also perform extremely well and we have successfully sold works by many of the great masters including Huang Binhong (£51,250), Qi Baishi (£48,800), Zhang Daqian (£19,800) and Huang Zhou (£18,000).

The demand for Chinese paintings has seen tremendous growth in recent years and collectors are increasingly looking to source works with good provenance from the UK and mainland Europe. With Chiswick Auctions’ international reputation, the biannual sales, held in May and November, are a draw for top collectors and dealers from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and New York.
