VIEWS OF THE GEORGIAN MILITARY ROAD, c.1890. Albumen prints (20) with rounded corners, featuring views in the region of Vladikavkaz, including views of the Tamara Fortress, Ossetian dancers, Mt Kazbek, and various staging posts along the Georgian Military Road, each with typographical captions in Russian (all printed in gilt, save for the final print, mounted on paper, with printed caption tipped in). Housed in a small oblong folio measuring 230 x 310 mm, bound in pebble-grained cloth, title in gilt on upper board. Faded, wear to spine and corners, scattered foxing within.
