A late 19th century Austrian silver and enamel timepiece or clock, Vienna circa 1880 by Hermann Böhm (active 1866-1922)

the domed base upon four scroll feet with cherub’s head and wings, the central stem formed as a caparisoned camel supporting the oval form timepiece all surmounted by a bacchanalian cherub. The base with applied masks between circular cartouches with painted enamel scenes of the four muses, all reserved against a black ground heightened with gilding. The gilt dial with champlevé enamel of arabesques and stylised foliate forms, with black Roman numerals edged in white. Hinged glazed cover. The caparison of the camel with champlevé enamel of stylised foliate forms and scrolls. Town mark to leg and finial, maker's mark HB to foot.
