China 1969 Cover to Mao’s Wife Jiang Qing
Registered Airmail native cover from Changsha, 40 miles from Mao’s birth village Shaoshan to Comrade Jiang Qing as Deputy Director, Central Cultural Revolution Group. Jiang Qing was founder of the Gang of Four and was the inaugural First Lady of People’s Republic of China.
Arrested in 1976 by Hua Guofeng and sentenced to death this was commuted to life imprisonment in 1983. Comrade Jiang commited suicide in 1991.
