An unusual George V sterling silver cigarette box, London 1932 by Sampson Mordan and Co
Of centrally opening rectangular form upon a chamfered base, opening through a push button release to the top, turned with Art Deco style sunburst and a vacant rectangular cartouche. The wood lined interior with central divider. The exterior with engine turned decoration. Gilt interior. Filled base. Fully and part-marked. Stamped to the side Mappin and Webb, Nice, Fabrication Anglaise, also Rd 764967.
