A pair of George III sterling silver sauceboats, London 1767 by David Whyte & William Holmes

Each of belied form, with fluting to resemble shells, each raised upon cast shaped oval pedestal feet with a gadrooned edge. The acanthus capped double C scroll handles with a bifurcated upper junction adjoining a leafy scroll section, leading to a gadrooned rim. The pouring lips with scroll work undersides. Each engraved to the front with a crest of a winged spur. Each fully marked underneath the lip. (2)
