THREE IRANIAN ENGRAVED SILVER MINIATURE POSY VASES
Isfahan, Iran, circa 1940 - 1950

Each of typical bulbous shape, resting on a short splayed foot, rising to wide shoulders and a narrow, everted neck with an embossed circular rim, each vase decorated with a similar decorative repertoire featuring lobed medallions filled with storks, long vegetal stems with lotus and rosette flowers, interlocking split palmettes and further vegetal elements, the larger vase stamped on the base with a pseudo-tughra mark and '84', 13cm high; and the pair of smaller vases stamped with two marks, Biria'i (or Bireae), possibly the retailer, and Abbas Afzali (maker) and '84', each 12cm high.
