A LOOSE FOLIO FROM A SHAHNAMA MANUSCRIPT Ottoman Provinces, late 18th - early 19th century Persian manuscript on paper, 15ll. to the page of nasta'liq script, with opaque pigments heightened with gold, the illustration in the lower centre of the folio depicting soldiers and high officials gathered in a camp of tents, a central cartouche in white ink on gold ground and with cobalt blue edges with gold tendrils referring to the scene illustrated, 'Snow falling on Esfandiyar and the army of the Sixth Khan', mounted, framed and glazed, 45cm x 33.5cm including the frame.
