A pair of Meissen Porcelain figural ewers, 19th Century, after the original 18th Century versions by J.J. Kaendler, modelled as a gentleman and his companion seated on rocky outcrops and wearing 18th Century costume, he in a purple floral coat and yellow patterned breeches, she in a floral turquoise bodice with a yellow skirt and pink apron, both holding open the cover of a large jug painted with flowers and insects, applied with branch handles with flower encrusted terminals, raised on grassy bases, 19cm and 19.5cm high, crossed swords marks in blue, incised model nos. 406 and 1234, he with 'De.' in red script and she with 'Da..' in black script (minor chipping to applied flowers and minor wear to gilding, he with a small chip to his hat, she with a fracture to her waist and restoration to the rim of the ewer) (2) FOOTNOTES A very similar pair of figural ewers was sold by Christie's, 22 February 2011, lot 284.
