Possibly for John Folliott (1696-1765) MP for Donegal 1730 to 1760, and for Kinsale from 1761 until 1765. The Folliott family had first come to Ireland from Worecester in the late 16th century, where in the 18th century Henry, 3rd Baron Folliott died without issue in 1716 and thus the titles became extinct. His estates passed to a cousin Lieutenant-General John Folliott (1691-1761), who upon his death his estates passed to his first Cousin John Folliott of county Sligo (1696-1765). Lieutenant-General John Folliott commenced the building of Wardtown Castle, Ballyshannon in 1739/40. It was sublet from the late 18th century onwards.

Goodwin working from Skinner Row, apprenticed to Henry Daniel 1722, free 1730, master 1746/7 and elected Common Council City of Dublin 1749.

A pair of provincial Irish wine coasters, from Cork, with similar decoration was sold Christie’s South Kensington, 15 May 2001, Lot 187 (£7,872 incl. premium)
