The hinged rectangular case opening to reveal two panels carved in relief to depict the Eight Immortals sat in a pine grove, the lower section with ruyi sceptres tied with long flowing ribbon, set with pierced fixtures decorated with wan symbols, together with four additional small wood fixtures,
