A George II sterling silver quart tankard, London 1748 by Gabriel Sleath (this mark reg. 18th June 1739)

Of baluster form upon a spreading circular base, with applied central girdle. The double C scroll handle with heart shaped terminal leading to a hinged double domed lid raised by a chair back thumbpiece. Fully marked underneath and to the interior of the lid.

Height – 19.3 cm / 7.7 inches

Weight – 863 grams / 27.75 ozt
