A George I silver ‘sparrow beak’ cream jug, London circa 1720, makers mark only for Seth Lofthouse (reg. 1699, d, 7 Feb 1727)

Of baluster form, upon a moulded circular foot, incised band near rim, C scroll handle. Engraved with contemporaneous initials F R in Roman script with a small fleur-de-lis between, Britannia standard makers mark only underneath.

Height – 7 cm / 2.75 inches

Weight – 72 grams / 2.31 ozt
