A George III sterling silver coffee pot on stand, the pot London 1770 by Francis Crump (first reg. 14th May 1745)

Of baluster form upon a circular foot with gadrooned edge, the ebonised C scroll handle with shell upper junction opposite an acanthus capped curved spout. The hinged domed lid with gadrooned edge and incised concentric lines, surmounted by a fluted conical finial. The side engraved with a contemporaneous coat of arms within foliage and garlands, surmounted by a crest of a cockatrice's head couped, combed and wattled, between two wings of the first. The stand, London 1771 by Richard Rugg, of shaped circular form with shaped cavetto edge and gadrooned rim, raised on three pad feet. The centre of the field engraved with the same arms and crest as pot. Each fully marked, the coffee pot lid with lion passant only. (2)
