A George III sterling silver three-piece tea service, London 1807, the teapot by Thomas Wallis II (reg. 15th Sep 1792)
Comprising a teapot, a milk jug and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of oval bombe form raised on four ball feet. The body with bright cut engraved bands of Greek Key, foliate scrolls and trailing leaves, heightened with wriggle-work and dot bands throughout, also with a vacant bright cut oval cartouche to each side. The panelled spout opposite a later wooden angular handle, the gently domed hinged lid surmounted by a later wooden finial. The milk and sugar with gilt interiors and reeded handled, marked for John Fountain (this mark reg. 16th Feb 1797). Each fully and part-marked. Each stipple engraved underneath with numerals ‘337’.(3)
