An early George III sterling silver teapot, London 1763 by Alexander Johnston

Of inverted baluster form upon a spreading circular foot. The cast shell form curved spout opposite a wooden C scroll handle pinned to curved sockets, with an upper shell junction. The hinged domed lid surmounted by an affixed finial chased as a pineapple, the surround of the lid with engraved decoration of foliate and rocaille C scrolls. Fully marked underneath, the lid unmarked.
