A MEISSEN PLATE, circa 1740, painted in Imari style in underglaze-blue, enamels and gilding, the centre with a spray of indianische Blumen within lambrequin borders, the reverse with underglaze-blue branches embellished with iron-red flowers and gilding, 20.3cm diameter, crossed swords mark and dot in underglaze-blue, impressed numeral 56 PROVENANCE: Private German collection.
