A Victorian sterling silver novelty inkstand, London 1864 by George Fox

A dished bade with a shaped chased broad rim, the centre formed as a detachable fluted pear, the body with a hinged section to reveal an ink well, with a removable blue glass liner. The dished base engraved with initials ACM and MC within a viscount’s coronet. Fully marked underneath and to the pear and part-marked to lid.
