A Victorian sterling silver cast cream jug, London 1871 by Hunt and Roskell

after the 18th century original by David Willaume, the bowl formed as a turbo shell the underside of the lip with a satyr mask, upon a recumbent dog with an oval base, the handle formed as a mythical dolphin. Gilt interior. Fully marked to the right of the handle, the front of foot rim stamped HUNT & ROSKELL 6111.

Height – 9.8 cm / 3.9 inches

Weight – 144 grams / 4.63 ozt

An example of this cream jug of 1719 by Willaume is in the Clark institute (1955.422).
