A Victorian sterling silver christening mug, London 1863 by William Smily

Of octagonal section leading to a circular rim, upon an octagonal foot, a C scroll handle. The panelled sides engraved with arabesques and styled quatrefoils, and foliage. The cartouches to either side engraved with initials SME in cursive script to one and the date 1864 to the other. Traces of gilding to the interior. Fully marked underneath and stamoed A B SAVORY & SONS, LONDON.
