A Victorian sterling silver christening mug, London 1869 by messrs Barnard

Of rounded circular form upon a baluster pedestal domed circular foot, with a C scroll and cylindrical section handle. The bowl with engraved decoration of stylised leaves and foliage against a striated ground, the foot with similar. Engraved to the front “From C.H. to J.D.C” in gothic script. Gilt interior. Fully marked to the right of the handle, the underside stamped 4877.
