A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE ‘DON QUIXOTE’ DISH. Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period. Painted in enamels and gilt with the famous literary hero on horseback assisted by his aid Sancho Panza in a rocky landscape, two ladies behind a nearby tree, the rims with en grisaille panels of birds, flowers and landscapes, 23cm diameter.
