The original cup by Charles Bekegle was illustrated for the collection of the author in, Jackson, C. Sir., (1905). English Goldsmiths and their marks. London: Macmillan and Co. p.632.

“Charles Bekegle, the Flemish immigrant, who was warden of the Cork Guild in 1693, was certainly no less skilful than Goble ; if judged by their respective works—apart from the mace of the Cork Guilds Bekegle would probably be ranked as the greater artist. Although no earlier mention of his name has been found, he must have been settled in Cork some years before 1693 to warrant his election to office in that year.”
