A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE 'LA DAME AU PARASOL’ DISH.  Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period. Decorated in enamels and gilt with a lady and her assistant at the edge of the pond marvelling at exotic birds, the rim with cartouches of ladies and birds against pink cell pattern ground, 25cm diameter.  In 1734 Cornelis Pronk was commissioned by the Dutch East India Company to produce designs for porcelain. Pronk made four different designs, of which The Parasol Ladies was most popular.
