An Elizabeth II modernist sterling silver covered dish or ash tray, Sheffield 1957 by Herbert Thorpe (reg. 2^nd Jan 1952)

Of ‘space age’ dished form upon three short cylindrical feet. The pull off domed lid surmounted by a tall tapering cylindrical wooden finials with an applied circular silver boss chased with initials BL ligatured. Full marked underneath, makers mark HT in monogram, part-marked to lid.
