A George V ‘Arts and Crafts’ sterling silver covered goblet, London 1915 by Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr
Of tapering cylindrical form upon a spreading circular foot with a rope twist junction. The body with chased inscription reading “I was wrought for Richard Cathal Shirely by command of the officers of the 2nd Artists Rifles O.T.C. to mark his christening day MCMXVII”, and the badge of the regiment the gods Mars and Minerva designed by J. W. Wyon. The pull off lid with a centrally domed section with an applied chased coronet surround, surmounted by the badge of the regiment. Engraved underneath OMAR RAMSDEN ET ALEYN CARR ME FECEQUNT. Fully marked to the rim, the lid unmarked.
