A George V ‘Arts and Crafts’ sterling silver wine flagon or ewer, Birmingham 1922 by William Bernard Wood
Of baluster form upon a spreading circular foot with an applied rope twist edge. The short spout opposite a loop handle leading to a loop handle, the hinged gently domed lid with an applied cut card work fleur-de-lis hinge piece, surmounted by an octahedron finial with rope twist edge. The body with a punch work border of simple curved lines and crescents, other with planished decoration. Fully marked to the side, maker mark W.B.W, lid part-marked.
