A Victorian sterling silver snuff box, Birmingham 1852 by Edward Smith

Of shaped rectangular form with a hinged lid raised by a scroll thumbpiece. The lid with an engraved presentation inscription reading “Presented to Mr John Buchanan Colorach by a few friends as a token of respect for his unwearied example as a stock breeder, Strathendrick 30th April 1862”, all reserved with engraved foliate scrolls, and underneath. Gilt interior. Fully marked.

Length – 9.3 cm / 3.7 inches

Weight – 180 grams / 5.79 ozt
