Around this period at Garrards, designers and modellers included Edward Lorenzo Percy, Harrison Weir (1824-1906 ) and William F. Spencer who succeeded Edmund Cotterill (1795-1860) as head designer. The Alhambra table fountain of 1852 is composed of a collaborative approach between these designers, the architectural structure of the centrepiece, modelled by Edward Lorenzo Percy, is inspired by the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain with its distinctive 'honeycomb' plasterwork. The horses were modelled by Cotterill from three of Queen Victoria's Arabs. The exotic plants around the base were closely modelled by William Spencer on botanical specimens at Kew Gardens.

A designer for this model has not been identified but a centaur of 1873 is also known from Garrards.

Estimated at £400 - £600
