André Dunoyer de Segonzac, printmaker and illustrator, was associated with several artistic movements, including Fauvism and Cubism.

Dunoyer de Segonzac's work was characterised by his bold use of colour and his interest in capturing the essence of his subjects through simplified, geometric forms. He was particularly known for his landscapes and still lifes, which often featured bright, vibrant colours and dynamic compositions as can be seen in the present work.

In addition to his work as a painter and printmaker, Dunoyer de Segonzac was also a prolific illustrator, producing numerous illustrations for books and magazines throughout his career. He was particularly known for his illustrations of the works of French writers such as Marcel Proust and André Gide.
